Juan Carlos Montiel, CEO and founder of Carlos & Carlos Inc., had always envisioned branching out from United States to other places to set up his concepts. It was not until November 2007 that he thought to open in Central America when an opportunity developed at the new terminal of the La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City.

After careful study of the logistics involved in having a restaurant inside an airport, Juan Carlos Montiel and some of his friends, invested in the idea. The idea took a little doing, but in July of 2009, Carlos & Carlos finally open its doors, hosting thousand of passengers at La Aurora Airport.

The Montiel Group again did not take any shortcuts and after spending time and resources opened the first of several concepts in Central America. Management brought personnel from Guatemala to train at the Chicago base and become familiar with our disciplines and philosophies. Then all of the trained personnel returned to Guatemala, bringing with them signature dishes, salads, and deserts. They also returned with our concepts of outstanding customer service and professionalism.

Carlos & Carlos offers a menu that will please the most discriminating palate, from breakfast to dinner, along with wonderful appetizers. The ingredients we use are the best available and our executive chef overlooks quality control during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Carlos & Carlos has a wonderful cocktail lounge featuring premium liquors and fine wines. Guests enjoy free internet. We have plasma TV’s throughout, which allows our patrons to get the latest in news, sports and entertainment while relaxing in a comfortable atmosphere, away from the crowded boarding gates. Our restaurant also features an “Executive” table where customers can enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail and appetizers while working on their laptops.

Our kitchen features a variety of wonderful dishes, all gourmet quality from beginning to end. And every dish, as complicated as it may be, is prepared with the utmost efficiency to ensure that every passenger will be at the boarding gate on time.
